FIRE FIGHTERS HONORED

This Sunday, December 14th, the Aubrey First United Methodist Church will honor the Aubrey Fire Department.  The members of the Fire Department and their families are being invited to attend the Worship Service at 10am where there faithful and dedicated service will be recognized.  Following the Worship Service, a luncheon will be served in the Church fellowship hall in honor of the members of the Aubrey Fire Department.

Our Fire Fighters put their lives on the line to keep our community safe from the ravages of fire.  They apply the same care and concern when they respond to more simple calls as well.  Each time a fire fighter gets called out the family members wonder how risky a call it might be.  Families know their loved one might be back home quickly or not for hours.  They know it could be risky yet they support their Fire Fighter.  The First Methodist Congregation also wants to acknowledge the role of the families as well as the committed service of the Fire Fighters.  The time of recognition and appreciation in the Service as well as the luncheon are just a token of the esteem in which the Fire Department is held.

This past year the Methodist Church had to call upon the services of the Fire Department.  While the fire in the building was discovered by the Choir and no longer presented a crisis, it was the Fire Department that handled the heavy smoke in the sanctuary and removed the smoldering items so they would not do further damage.  It was the Fire Department who brought in industrial fans and began to clear out the smoke.  Their work was professional, efficient and courteous to those on the scene.

Many others in the community have benefited from the saving and helpful work of the Fire Department even within this last year.  You are also invited to attend this service and participate in thanking our Aubrey Fire Department for all they do.
